"Quickies - Vol. 63"

Pollyanna dreams . . .

Today most Americans feel the guerrilla war will end because of Saddam's capture. But our generals in Iraq insist the guerrilla war will continue.

Time to stop protecting Halliburton and give UN control of Iraq.

Recently our 'compassionate' President . . .

Came out of the closet to admit he would support a ban on gay marriages. Bush said marriage is a sacred American institution with only a 50% divorce rate. We don't want gays jeopardizing those figures. Gays can marry in America, just not to people of the same sex, said the leader of the free world. [:-)

This just in . . .

Libya is now committed to building a world free of weapons of mass destruction. [nukes] Moammar Khadafy said it is his hope that one day the United States, United Kingdom and Israel will follow his example. {:-)

Hope . . .

As we all know, American Conservatives are a national tragedy. Why does one become a Conservative and what can we do to help them? In a new study, scientists isolated 100 children, ages 10 through 13. They were forced to watch Fox News, listen to Rush Limbaugh and read, National Review, seven days a week, for 6 months.

The results were predictable. 85% said Paul Wolfowitz should be our next President. 91% said the New York Times is a commie rag. 97% said Jimmy Carter can take his Noble Peace Prize and shove it and 100% said liberals should leave the country. After several tests, scientists located the master gene that causes this dreaded disease.

They named the gene, 'krove'. By chemically targeting this gene scientists believe this will prevent the brain from receiving impure right-wing thoughts. If the treatment works, all American will once again be a rational, compassionate people. We live in hope. [:-)

Thumbs up? . . .

Whenever a Jew sees the new Mel Gibson movie, "The Passion of Christ" they say the film is, meshuggena. I'm not sure but I believe 'meshuggena' means, fair and balanced. [:-)

The nature of things . . .

The old man always fed the birds. One day he said to a sparrow, "What will you and your friends do when I die?" Tweedy said, "Don't worry, another pigeon will come along." {:-o)

It was a very good year . . .

One day in the summer of '65 I went for a swim in the Atlantic ocean. I noticed a beautiful Greek woman on the shore. I waved and she yelled out to me, "Colymbosathon ecplecticos!" Need I say more? [:-)

The worms crawl in . . .

Researches found a gene responsible for drunkenness in worms. Worms were given 6 Martinis [sans the olives] and the worms were plastered. 8 worms sang, "Melancholy Baby." 7 worms tried to drive but they were unable to put the key in the ignition and 5 worms insisted President Bush is not dumb.

Getting worms drunk may sound silly, but liquor stores see a new clientele and President Bush praised the research. [:-)

Jimmy Breslin . . .

Recently wrote that Attorney General, John Ashcroft is a Bible-quoting, psalm-singing, religious right-wing fanatic.

Editor's note : Amen.

New Web Site . . .

Hope you visit, www.Interfaithalliance.org

GREED . . .

The most devastating disease on the planet is, Greed. This black plague kills more people and destroys more families than any other illness. Bleeding heart liberal, Charles Dickens once wrote, "Is not Mankind our business?"

God bless Charles Dickens and to all, a happy and healthy new year. Peace.

Best Wishes Always - Jerry.
