When Reagan came into office, the national debt was $ 800 billion. When he left office, it was 2.5 trillion. When George Sr. came in, the national debt went from $ 2.5 to $5 trillion. With GW Bush Jr. the national debt went from $ 5 trillion to $ 10 trillion.
