Editor's note : In 1960 I was 12 years old & living in Queens, NY. One summer day I invited my friend, Clarence Hightower to our home. We sat on the front stoop & played checkers. That night my Mother got several phone calls expressing the hope that we never again invite that 'boy' to 'our' neighborhood. My Mom ignored the calls. Of course, Clarence Hightower is black. Frank Sinatra once sang; "All races & religions - that's America to me." [:-)
